Privacy Vendor Market Moves From Point to Platform Solutions
PwC's Anirban Sengupta Details Privacy Landscape, Growing Awareness in India MarketThe privacy vendor market in India is evolving rapidly. Many vendors are moving past offering point solutions to deliver platform solutions that offer better integration and the ability to handle a broader range of privacy requirements, said Anirban Sengupta, a partner in the risk consulting practice at PwC.

"Some vendors are moving from point solutions, like concept management or data discovery or data subject rights management, to more comprehensive platforms" that integrate multiple privacy technology or service capabilities, Sengupta said.
Another big shift is happening on the regulatory front. "I am expecting the regulators to start prioritizing public education and awareness campaigns in a big way," he said. "I am also expecting the regulators and other industry bodies to come up with various templates which can be sector-specific, that can be leveraged by organizations and which can make implementation much easier."
