As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining software quality a world class Demo system and portal for GE Digital’s suite of products. You will leverage your leadership and technical skills to drive multiple activities including requirement analysis, quality engineering discussions, software test development, automation and regression architecture, problem solving, and test design of cloud as well as on-premise based products in a global team.
In this role, you will:
Lead and maintain execution of automated system, functional and unit test cases, performance tests in an agile scrum environmentQuick learner and problem solver; Ability to learn new products and technology to cater to current needs and serve as subject matter expert (SME) for overall product technical implementationPerform requirements analysis to quickly understand end user needs and design robust scalable test plans working closely with Product manager, developers and other cross-functional members of the teamCollaborate and communicate closely with high performing individuals with cross-functional expertiseDesign, review and perform Manual and Automated testing, identify bugs and get fixesBe a part of the development team you need to understand & balance out the technical requirements & business priority by contributing and providing great technical mentoring to diverse group of software and user experience engineersIdentify the scope of work and estimate the effort taking into account Definition of Done (Automation, Code Review, E2E testing, regression Performance & Scalability)Raise skills and competency of other GE and partner software engineering teams software development lifecycle - play the role of 'coach'Make technology choices at individual level and has ability to analyze impactApply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing TechniquesIntegrate project testing with continuous-integration process
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)A minimum of 6 years of professional experience
Proven hand's on experience with test automation, Selenium, Cucumber, Protractor, micro-tester, object-oriented design and programming languages in Java, J2EE, Junit, Java ScriptExpert in defining test cases, test plans; documenting test plansExperience or knowledge of CI/CD tools – Jenkins integrating with GIT, Coverity, Sonar.Experience with both service (REST) and web application (Selenium) testingExperience working in Agile framework & Scrum teams, using tools like Rally etc.Experience working with virtual machines (VMs) and Cloud technologies as part of a test/integration infrastructure
