Inside KnowBe4's Acquisition of Egress
KnowBe4's Sjouwerman and Egress' Pepper on Integrated Solutions for Email SecurityIn a strategic move aimed at addressing evolving cybersecurity challenges, KnowBe4, a leading provider of security awareness training, has recently announced its acquisition of Egress, a specialist in email security solutions.

Highlighting the impetus for the acquisition, Stu Sjouwerman, CEO, KnowBe4, said while they have been leaders in security awareness and phishing prevention, their customers also needed solutions in email security, particularly for internet cloud email security, mainly focusing on Microsoft and Google platforms.
"When we built a bidirectional integration with KnowBe4 whereby not only were we seeing some of those advanced behavioral-based inbound and outbound threats, a lot of the threats were not always payload-based attacks but often using natural language processing," said Tony Pepper, CEO, Egress. "We were detecting those and offering banners and teachable moments, to ultimately avoid people from interacting with those."
