Internet of things devices launching distributed denial-of-service attacks in the vein of the Mirai malware outbreak that began in 2016 may no longer pose only an external threat for enterprises, says Philippe Alcoy, cyber security technologist for Asia-Pacific at Arbor Networks.

Prior to joining Arbor, he spent over 15 years in technical leadership, consulting and management roles for vulnerability scanning, penetration testing and compliance monitoring vendors in Europe and Asia. Alcoy was born in a little town outside Lyon in France, enjoying reverse engineering games on his Oric Atmos and then partaking in the demo scene with his Amiga 500. Alcoy has been based in Bangkok for over 10 years.
