“The challenge I would issue to the security teams is to think about how you can be at least as engaging as a cybercriminal, because they send a [phishing] email to your people and they respond to it,” she says. “So how can you match that level of engagement?”

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group, Gavin discusses:

  • The cyberthreats to remote workers;
  • Why awareness and training efforts are more important than ever;
  • The challenges of educating the newly remote workforce.

Gavin is “The Cyber Coach” for The Cyber Rescue Alliance, a management consultancy that helps organizations recover from breaches. She’s the former chairperson of the Women's Security Society. She formerly served in leadership roles, including CISO, at Artemis Fund Management, Kensington Mortgages, The Economist, Barclaycard, Barclays Bank, Barclays Capital, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and the Toronto Stock Exchange.
